MY PETZ RULE, don't yours? They rule my home and govern when and where and for how long I can go away but they also rule my heart! Without them, my home would be a poorer, lonelier place. I've had many pets over the course of my life - dogs, cats, birds of all sorts, mice, spiders, ducks and even snakes and each one had its own personality and pros and cons. This site is dedicated to the memory of those faithful pets who enriched my life and in most cases gave me unconditional love and companionship!

Here you'll find information on all types of pets and different breeds, how to care for them, and a place to share your stories and photos.

Send in your photos with a brief description and details and you'll be able to share your pets with other pet lovers or just show them to the world. I'm also adding some of those email photos of animals that seem to do the rounds from time to time as they are so cute.  All copyright of these is acknowledged and if anyone has any objection to me including them here, please email me and I'll remove them.

Send in your stories -  funny, sad or a loving tribute and share them with others who enjoy pets as part of their family.

Pets make great companions for all people -  young and old, as well as families. The trick is to find the type of pet that is right for you and your living situation - obviously it's no good wanting a horse if you live in an apartment!! Then you need to decide what sort of pet you like that will fit in with your environment - be it a cat, dog,  bird, reptile, or any other type of domesticated animal.

You should also choose a pet based on what sort of animal suits your personality and  life style- if you like taking long walks then a big, active dog might suit you or if you're more the couch potato type, a cute kitten to curl up by your side might be the go!!

Many pets end up at the pound or RSPCA, or dumped each year because they grew too big, didn't suit the type of family who bought it or their lifestyle or just became grown up and not so cute and cuddly. Owning a pet of any type is the same as bringing a child into your family and needs the same amount of love and commitment that you give your child!! If you aren't prepared to have your pet with you for up to 25 years depending on the type, then don't get one or get one that doesn't require as much attention.
