From glen:
Having had many animals over the course of my fairly long life I have had a few funny stories to share so I'll start off the page with an anecdote.

When we were kids living at Camp Hill in Brisbane, we had a kelpie/cattle cross named Major Mitch - after Major Mitchell the explorer if any of you remember him. Major Mitch of course, should have been on a farm and not trapped in a suburban back yard and he often escaped and went looking for fun. One day he brought home a chook, minus a few feathers but still very much alive!! In those days - the 1950's - there were many houses with chook runs, we even had one ourselves.  Much to our embarrassment, my dad made my sister and I take the poor chook and canvas every house in our street and the one behind to find its owner and apologise. We did eventually find a very irate owner who informed us it wasn't the first time the Major Mitch had come visiting!

This was the start of the downhill track for MM who also had a bad habit of heeling the lady over the road on her Vespa. When he ruined her favourite pair of stockings that was it - MM was sent off to a farm to live the rest of his days blissfully rounding up cattle instead of chooks and Vespas! Well we always did wonder if that's where he ended up, that's what we were told by our parents and that's the nicest thing to think I guess!!

OK now send in your stories!!
